A new Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Australia and China has came into effect at the end of 2015.
An FTA is an arrangement between two countries that aims to improve market access for different types of business.
Although the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) isn't planned to come into effect until 2015, a Declaration of Intent for the ChAFTA has been signed by both countries.

When the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) received parliamentary approval and was written into law, normal trading conditions between Australia and China should still apply.
Benefits of the ChAFTA include:
· increased opportunities for importing and exporting with China
· decreased importing and exporting taxes
· doing business with China more easily
